Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a Gothic novella by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, first published in 1886, set in foggy, dark, and Jack the Ripperesque London.
Dr. Jekyll is a respected scientist who meddles with the darker side of science. He develops a formula that helps him "change" into his alter ego, Mr. Hyde. his evil alter ego who doesn't repent or accept responsibility for his evil crimes and ways.
However after sometime Dr. Jekyll starts losing control of his alter ego and is afraid Hyde will take over his consciousness forever.
